Who we are. Bugle Prep ("Bugle Prep", "we") is an online study course for the Massachusetts Fire Lieutenant examination, created by a Massachusetts firefighter. To contact us, reply to any Bugle Prep email.
What you're buying. Access to the Bugle Prep members area. It's a chapter-by-chapter study system for the official reading list for the April 12, 2027 Massachusetts Fire Lieutenant exam. Each chapter and unit comes in multiple formats: study guide, flashcards, crossword, word search and slide deck, plus video lessons and audio episodes as they're released (Chapter 1 now, more being added). Chapters and units are added over time. As of October 21, 2026, Structural Fire Fighting (3rd ed.), Building Construction (5th ed.) and the Emergency Response Guidebook 2024 are live, and Company Officers is being added. The dashboard shows what's ready and what's "Coming soon".
Price. $329, shown at checkout. Taxes, if any, are shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices may change for future buyers; the price you paid is the price for your purchase.
Your account. Your access is for you only. Don't share your sign-in links, files or account. Sign-in happens by emailed link, and each link works for 7 days. If we see clear signs of account sharing or redistribution of the materials, we may suspend access without a refund.
Access period. Access continues at least until HRD releases official results for the April 12, 2027 exam.
Activity tracking. The members area keeps an activity log of your use of the course (details in the Privacy Policy). It shows you your progress and helps us support you and improve the course.
Refunds. All sales are final, except where the law requires otherwise. If you have a problem with your access or a charge, reply to any Bugle Prep email and we'll work it out with you.
Study materials. Bugle Prep materials are original study aids that paraphrase and organize the official reading list. They don't replace the books. Bugle Prep is not affiliated with or endorsed by IFSTA, Fire Protection Publications, Oklahoma State University, PHMSA, Talogy, or the Massachusetts Human Resources Division (HRD). Practice questions are not official exam questions. We can't promise you a particular score or result.
Intellectual property. The materials are Bugle Prep's. You may print or download them for your own study, but you may not resell, share, post or redistribute them.
Separately sold add-ons. Any add-on sold separately from the course has its own schedule and terms, given when you buy it.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability. The course is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Bugle Prep's total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the course.
Changes. We may update these terms. The version you agreed to at checkout (recorded with its version and fingerprint) applies to your purchase.
Law. Massachusetts law governs these terms.
